DELILAH DEVINE

.

Delilah Devine is an accessories and homewares label based in the Adelaide Hills in South Australia. Delilah is the heart’s work of Linda Marek, a textile designer and illustrator with a love of colour, print and pattern, creating heartfelt adornments for body and home, all with a focus on doing right by the environment and by local suppliers.

.

After working in Australia and Europe, Linda launched Delilah in 2009. We salvage vintage wallpapers and upcycle them into jewellery artworks and plaques that add a unique and whimsical touch to your home. Our sets of flying ducks, swallows and wild horses have become perennial favourites. We love the nostalgia that these items evoke when customers recognise a wallpaper from their childhood! At Delilah Devine, we believe that doing good makes good business sense. We love to create and share our work, but we believe that how we do it is just as important as the finished product.

.

Sustainability: Our studio operates on 100% renewable energy (green power) and, as we operate locally, we aim to minimise emissions created through freight as much as possible. We are all for recycling, reusing and reducing waste. Our orders are sent in reused packaging materials – such as bubblewrap and boxes – which have been collected from local stores, and diverted from landfill as a result.

.

Supporting local business: Delilah uses Adelaide-based suppliers wherever we can to support local business and reduce our shipping footprint. We’re on a first-name basis with our laser cutter, printers and box manufacturers, so we know them and trust their commitment to running a fair and equitable workplace.

.

Giving back: Starting a small business was a straightforward process for us, but for many people around the world it’s a dream that never becomes a reality. Delilah donates 10% of all online sales to Kiva, a non-profit organisation with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Kiva believe that providing affordable access to capital to those in need helps people create better lives for themselves and their families. Since 2005, Kiva have helped over a million people who would not have otherwise had access to finance.
