EXHIBITING MAY 9TH-JUNE 6TH 2015
Joslin Koolen is a spatial stylist, artist & gatherer of all things eclectic & unusual. After a childhood spent travelling with her Dutch parents & sister, living in Africa, & prolifically creating she later went on to study Interior Design at the University of South Australia. It was soon after completing her degree she realised her true passion lay in using her hands to create, style & inspire herself. Various floral courses later, followed by a traineeship, Joslin founded ‘My Greengoddess’ – creating & styling architecturally inspired florals for weddings & events – while dabbling with design & art for her own enjoyment.
Constantly curious & drawn to beautifully considered design, it was while on a short break from floristry she discovered the evocative & timeless world of mid century design through ceramics, furniture & restoration. This experience was formative as it gave Joslin the creative confidence to open her light filled, West End studio a.nouk style – now foraying her love of florals, props, furniture & plants [embellished by a.nouk’s custom-designed and locally made `Plant Cultuur’ vessels + stands range] – while exhibiting her abstract or illustrative art when the urge arises
