The Beginning of Messagemark
Kyrie Kohlhagen originally started the stationery label Messagemark back in 2003 after being diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Needing a creative outlet, Kyrie knew, would be essential to her recovery. Messagemark evolved quickly and is now available in homeware and gift stores across Australia and Europe. Messagemark continues to provide Kyrie with full creative freedom and to bring inspired imagery to you.

About Messagemark
Each Messagemark paper product is designed and handcrafted by Kyrie. Details such as hand creasing, guillotining and packaging infuse a personalised warmth in every product. Kyrie adores the old fashioned gesture of snail mail. Hand writing a card, sealing it with love and popping it into the post – this act alone demonstrates that you truly care. Kyrie loves to encourage the special moment of surprising someone with a card in their letterbox, knowing herself how wonderful the moment is.

Texting and communicating on social apps has now become the norm for communication, but there is nothing like receiving a personal note. For Kyrie, it is even more special to bring back snail mail and random small acts of kindness. The receiver will love you for it, and you will feel warm and fuzzy on the inside too!

The Illustrations
Kyrie’s designs are quirky and cute – loved by the young at heart. Inspiration comes from the colours and graphics of the 1950s & 1960s and the clean lines of Scandinavian design. With myriad ideas swimming around in Kyrie’s creative mind, only the most special make it to the paper.

When designing a new range, Kyrie will normally begin with a palette of 5 colours, a complimentary texture and then design 5 cohesive themed images for each design story. This distinct design formula allows Messagemark to show distinct brand style through any theme.

Earth Friendly
Messagemark paper products are printed onto paper which is 100% recycled, made entirely from post-consumer waste, and is produced in a unique ‘closed loop’ production process ensuring that all bi-products are reused and recycled.

Messagemark products are 100% designed and made in South Australia in small print-runs to reduce excess inventory. Kyrie loves the fact that by adopting a short-run production method, she is able to proudly say ‘made in Adelaide’.
